KPM SOL MUN

2019

About

NMIMS School of Law is back and is gearing up to host the 2nd Model United Nations 2019. A Model United Nations conference aims to be an authentic simulation of the United Nations – complete with Security Council, General Assembly, as well as an extensive assortment of other sub-committees, a Secretariat headed by the Secretary General, a Press Corps and the delegates, who assume the position of their country’s representatives over the course of the event. This year we will be gathering students and give them a forum to engage in conversation about this year’s theme- “Climate Change is Real”. The second edition of SOLMUN aims to simulate current United Nations happenings: Eg. – 2019 Climate Action Summit along with rare committees like UNFCCC and The Bilderberg Meetings. SOLMUN acts as a conduit for students to hone their skills and provides an engaging opportunity for the delegates to learn more along with providing a forum for critical thinking, research and public speaking. Model UN helps students learn critical leadership skills and prepare them to be leaders in today’s world by introducing the youth to the global issues which require attention such as sustainable development, climate change, human rights etc. and inspires them to find the solutions to these issues.
